The EcoChemistry research team is a unique collaboration between the Central Science Laboratory and the University of York.
We undertake research into the fate, behaviour and pathways of exposure of chemicals in the environment and assess their risks to human health and the environment.
We operate at a range of scales from controlled laboratory experimentation to catchment-level studies and have a large body of work related to the development and application of environmental models. Much of our research is policy-driven and underpins measures to promote the use of chemicals in an environmentally sustainable way.
Chemicals that we are actively working on include pesticides, human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and nanomaterials.
